2. Our products

We sell the INSTI HIV Self Test, a CE-certified in vitro diagnostic medical device manufactured by bioLytical Laboratories Inc. (Canada) for at-home self-testing.

The test is intended for adults aged 18 or older. It is a screening test that does not provide a final medical diagnosis. A reactive (preliminary positive) result must always be confirmed by laboratory testing through a healthcare provider.

Detailed product information, including instructions for use, intended use, and limitations, is provided on individual product pages and in the printed instructions inside each kit.

3. Placing an order

When you place an order, you make an offer to purchase. The contract between us is formed when we send you an order confirmation by email.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders in cases including, but not limited to:

• Inaccurate or fraudulent order details
• Stock unavailability
• Suspected unauthorised use of payment methods
• Where we cannot ship to your address

If we cancel an order, we will refund any payment made within 14 days.

4. Prices and payment

All prices on our website are shown in your selected currency and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Shipping costs, if any, are shown at checkout before you confirm your order.

We use the following payment providers:

• Mollie B.V. — processes iDEAL, credit card (Visa, Mastercard), Bancontact, and other European payment methods
• PayPal — for PayPal payments

Payment is processed at the time of order placement. We do not store full card details — these are handled directly by our payment providers.

5. Delivery

We ship orders within one working day from the Netherlands. Estimated delivery times are 2–5 working days within Europe, though times may vary depending on destination and carrier.

All orders ship in plain, unmarked packaging. No medical labels, no logos, nothing on the outside indicates the contents.

Shipping is to the address you provide at checkout. Please ensure your address is correct — we are not responsible for delays or non-delivery caused by incorrect address details.

6. Your right of withdrawal

Under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU), you generally have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving a reason.

However, this right does NOT apply to sealed medical devices that are not suitable for return for hygiene or health protection reasons once their seal has been broken (Article 16(e) of Directive 2011/83/EU). The INSTI HIV Self Test falls under this exception.

To exercise your right of withdrawal

Contact us at customer@one-self.nl within 14 days of receiving your order. We will provide return instructions. Return shipping costs are at your expense unless the product was damaged or incorrect.

Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving the returned (unopened) product, using the same payment method as your original order.

7. Defective or damaged products

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us at customer@one-self.nl within 7 days of receipt with photos of the damage where possible.

We will arrange a replacement, refund, or other remedy at our discretion, in accordance with EU consumer law. You do not have to pay for return shipping in these cases.

If you receive an INSTI test that produces an invalid result (no control dot appears), this is not a defect — it indicates the test was not performed correctly. Please retest with a new kit. See our How to Use page for guidance.

8. Use of the test

The INSTI HIV Self Test is for self-testing by adults aged 18 or older. By purchasing, you confirm that you understand:

• The test is a screening test, not a final diagnosis
• A reactive result requires laboratory confirmation by a healthcare provider
• Test results have a window period — see our Preguntas frecuentes for details
• The test is not intended for people taking antiretroviral therapy (ART), people with bleeding disorders, people with severe blood disorders such as multiple myeloma, or people who have participated in HIV vaccine studies

We provide medical information for educational purposes, but we are not a healthcare provider. We cannot interpret your test results, provide medical advice, or replace consultation with a doctor or sexual health clinic.

If you have questions about whether the test is suitable for your situation, please consult a healthcare professional before purchasing.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Dutch law:

• Our total liability for any claim arising from your purchase is limited to the purchase price of the product
• We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses
• We are not liable for outcomes resulting from incorrect use of the test, misinterpretation of results, or failure to seek confirmatory testing for a reactive result

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Dutch law.

These limitations do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under EU and Dutch law.

10. Intellectual property

All content on instihivtest.com — text, images, logos, graphics — is owned by One Self B.V. or our licensors (including bioLytical Laboratories for INSTI-related content).

You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without prior written permission. Personal, non-commercial use (e.g. printing for personal reference) is permitted.

11. Privacy

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms by reference. By placing an order, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

12. Disputes and applicable law

These Terms are governed by Dutch law. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply.

If you have a complaint, please first contact us at customer@one-self.nl. We aim to resolve issues within 14 days.

If we cannot resolve a dispute directly, you can submit it to the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform (ODR) at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr — a free service for EU consumers.

For unresolved disputes, the competent Dutch courts have exclusive jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place an order is the version that applies to that order. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised.
